Koywe Kollage

(Chile)

"Koywe Kollage is a Chilean queer mixed-media analog collage artist based in Berlin since 2012.

He began making analog collages in 2016 with old magazines and books, but over the years, his art has evolved, incorporating an array of techniques, materials, and his own photographs into a harmonious blend.

ABOUT THE WORK

Using a water marbling technique, Koywe captures the movement of ink and transfers it to human body images. This delicate process lays the groundwork for his intricate and detailed mixed -media collages.

Koywe strives to evoke the invisible energy that surrounds us in a cloud of deconstructed bodies and shapes.

By combining organic forms, multiple layers of images, colored paper, and neon colors, the artist explores new compositions, patterns, and figures that transform under UV light.
