NEW POSSIBILITIES WITH YOUR iPad

Composing text in images in Procreate for beginners

DESCRIPTION

In this 3-hour IN-PERSON workshop, plus 1 ONLINE feedback MEETING, you will enter the world of photographic intervention with letters and design.

About the Workshop

The class will begin with a quick introduction to Procreate, and a quick overview of what is typographic intervention in photographs city landscapes.

This will be followed by a series of exercises to loosen the hand and gain confidence with the Apple Pencil and the application.

We will see references to awaken creativity and from there on, start creating and exploring with your first designs and photographs.

The goal of the workshop is to merge the power of a phrase, with the aesthetics of lettering/typography, on a photograph that supports and amplifies the power of your message. The idea is to give you the tools to create powerful and visually beautiful pieces of communication.

There are several applications for this technique, from a postcard for your friends and family, the communication of your brand on social media, or even share your ideas in a creative way.

This workshop is aimed for illustrators, graphic designers, writers, photographers and artists, who are looking to expand their knowledge and create new and unique pieces.

No prior knowledge of lettering, typography, or photography is required. Basic knowledge in graphic composition is a plus.

The motto of this class is "Explore your creativity without limits". This is going to be a space for you to explore, learn, and achieve powerful and visually beautiful communication pieces.

About the teacher

Gabriela Parra Sánchez

I am Colombian, type focused designer, artist & illustrator studying at the Bauhaus Universität Weimar. I try to reflect my beliefs and emotions in every graphic piece I do, mixing it with a lot of color and joy. On a daily basis, I share my graphic design journey, including moments I live, phrases I get inspiration from and places that fill my heart, like Berlin for example. As one of my main focuses is typographic design, I always have my eyes open to see new ways of sharing messages with the world. When I'm walking around, I always carry my phone with me, to either capture a place that I like, a message that knocks on my heart or a new style I want to recreate in my own way. My work I a mixture of all of these: inspiration I take from others and the creation of new realities within a purpose. I have also participated in the creation of corporate identities and visual languages for private and institutional projects, as well as for the creation of posters, logos and graphic support pieces for companies in Colombia, Germany and Australia. Always drawing, experimenting, and learning.
