ABOUT HIS WORK

Anti-cartesian Gestures explores possibilities of poetic gestures of non-cartesian geometric representations. The first outcomes of this research are two scores based on two different diagrams, the Penrose diagram and the Smith chart. The Penrose diagram is a two-dimensional space-time diagram that captures geometrical causal structures through a conformal treatment of infinity, and the Smith chart is a graphical calculator or nomogram designed for solving mathematical problems with transmission lines and matching circuits. Both scores have a written component, which articulates the relation with the graphical aspect of the scores in order to perform the piece, a piece that can be thought of as a listening strategy or tactic.
