DESCRIPTION
Psychedelic Zoo is a 3 hour class with the aim of guiding you into the world of watercolor through a creative and explorative approach.
About the Workshop
Opening with a 1 hour introduction to the very basics of the technique. This class is suitable for absolute beginners, but also for intermediate. We will move progressively from abstract blobs painted during the introduction into the figures of animals and insects, while keeping the same playful approach. It’s a perfect opportunity for intermediate students looking to deepen their practice or give it a more experimental style.
The intention of the class is not to achieve a naturalistic depiction, but rather to approach the motifs and material with curiosity, connecting with our playful side.
Animals and insects will serve as a reference and guideline (as well as an excuse!) to mix colors and let them flow in the water. The perfect ice-breaker for those who take watercolor too seriously!
The motto of this workshop is to enjoy. There is no right or wrong. Whatever you do, you understand something new. Watercolor is about water and colors flowing together… Maybe it could be as simple as that.
Art Supplies
Participants are given the option to book with or without art supplies.
Booking WITHOUT supplies, participants must bring:
- 1 watercolor palette (minimum 12 colors)*
- 2 watercolor brushes (sizes between 6-8 and 10-12)
- 4 sheets of A4 watercolor paper (300gr)
*recommended brands are: Van Gogh (Royal Talens), Windsor&Newton, Schmincke.

REFUND POLICY:
Cancellations will only be justified due to illness (with doctor's note). In case of unjustified cancellations to the workshop:
Until Aug. 31st – 23:00 hs: 35% of the final price will be kept, the rest will be reimbursed.
Until Sep. 1st – 23:00 hs: 50% of the final price will be kept, the rest will be reimbursed.

What are you going to achieve
About the teacher
I am Josefina, a visual artist from Buenos Aires living and working in Berlin. Aside from being an artist all my life, I have been an independent art teacher since 2017. I like to shape my workshops with a personal style, creating unique content and programs for my students to learn. I try to make art simple and accessible to everyone, as I consider it an important part of human experience.
As an artist, I come from a strong background in drawing and work mostly with mixed media, formerly specializing in teaching experimental drawing and expressive painting.
I began playing with watercolor during the pandemic and found it both soothing and fascinating. Since then, I’ve been keen on sharing my enjoyment and focus mainly on teaching watercolor for the past year.
