I grew up in Bolivia. From an early age, I liked music and dance. I even participated a few times in the world famous Carnaval de Oruro dancing Caporales. In New Mexico, USA, a whole world opened up to me as I was introduced to Capoeira, where percussion, song and dance merge to create a wonderful art that tells part of Brazil’s fascinating history. Later, in California, I immersed myself in the search for new Latin-American, African, and African Diasporic movements and sounds. I took dance and percussion classes and workshops in different states and at University. I traveled to Cuba, Guinea, Senegal, and Peru to temporarily immerse myself in these wonderful cultures. Under the name Estampa-Fusion of Sound and Movement, I started organizing workshops for the community by inviting master dance teachers. With respect to the cultures that opened their doors to me and inspired by all the genres I have been influenced by, I started teaching regular dance and percussion classes. I have taught in California (USA), Lusaka (Zambia), La Paz (Bolivia), online, and in Berlin: the wonderful city in which I live now.
