An immersive, hands-on workshop led by internationally acclaimed muralist Caro Pepe, designed to guide emerging artists through the practical and conceptual process of creating large-scale public art.
Muralism bridges personal artistic vision with public architecture. In this intensive masterclass, participants explore the full lifecycle of a mural project—from conceptual sketches and scaling techniques to surface preparation, aerosol handling, and collaborative execution on a real urban wall.
What You Will Learn
- From Sketch to Scale: Transferring small-scale illustrations to architectural surfaces using grid systems, doodle grids, and projection techniques.
- Materials & Tools: Mastering the use of outdoor acrylics, spray cans, caps, rollers, primers, and weather-resistant sealants.
- Color & Composition in Space: Understanding viewing distances, lighting, street context, and dynamic palettes for public visibility.
- Site Preparation & Safety: Wall assessment, scaffolding safety, ergonomics, and legal considerations for public interventions.
“Muralism is not just about scaling up an image; it is an intimate conversation between the artist, the wall, and the community that inhabits the street.”
