In this 4-hour intensive dance workshop, dive into dynamic movements and polyrhythmic expressions inspired by Latin-American, African, and African diasporic traditional and urban dances.

The objective of this dance experience is to introduce participants to a rich variety of movement techniques originating mainly from Cuba, Guinea, Brazil, and Bolivia. Deeply anchored in live rhythms and bodily listening, this workshop explores the common ground and distinct nuances between each tradition while fostering personal, organic improvisation.

What You Will Experience

  • Rhythmic & Bodily Awareness: Polyrhythmic training deeply connected to percussion and musicality.
  • Movement Repertoire: Exploring traditional and urban roots from Afro-Cuban, West African, and Andean folklore.
  • Body Isolation & Flow: Techniques to isolate and articulate individual body parts into fluid sequences.
  • Choreography & Improvisation: Combining structured phrases with free expressive improvisation.

“Dance is a universal dialogue of memory, rhythm, and freedom that connects us deeply to our essence and community.”
